Selfie Project #2

Digital „selfie” is a modern form of self-portrait, but in art, we seek to go beyond just capturing an image.

So let’s ask ourselves: What is a self-portrait today? In a time when our faces are filtered by screens and algorithms… Is it a reflection of reality or a distorted image in a smartphone screen? A record of an authentic moment, or a technological deconstruction of how we see ourselves?

In the Selfie Project series (#1, #2), I search for answers. These are portraits of self-exploration through color, form, and the deconstruction of light. I break identity down into expressive shapes. Intense, unreal colors symbolize a play of emotions and inner conflict.

Exaggerated forms, unexpected colors, bold contrasts, and a dynamic perspective – everything in this painting vibrates with energy. It seems to be in motion, as if still searching for its final shape and identity. As if it still hasn’t decided what – or who – it truly is. Just like us, constantly redefining ourselves.
