If you are planning to enrich your interior with an original and unique work of art, an oil painting can be an excellent and prestigious choice
Artworks are all around us
Paintings, photographs, drawings, posters — works of art in many forms, sizes, and price ranges. Art has always been present in our interiors. It makes us feel better, gives us energy, and influences our mood.
Just look around. There are hardly any interiors without images. They appear on the walls of apartments, houses, offices, restaurants, hotels, and public spaces. Art adds character, shapes impressions, and builds emotional atmosphere.
Types of painting
Oil painting — the most prestigious.
Acrylic painting — open to many possibilities.
Watercolour — light and delicate.
Each technique has its admirers and collectors.
Among them, easel oil painting makes the strongest impression on many viewers. Often created in larger formats, on canvas stretched over wooden frames, with richly applied layers of oil paint. The texture is deep, tangible, and expressive.
Zoom in and zoom out
When you approach a painting closely, individual brushstrokes become visible. You notice colour transitions, layers, and the artist’s technique. At this distance, the subject may disappear.
Step back — and suddenly everything comes together. Thousands of colour strokes merge into forms, figures, and movement.
Oil painting needs space to fully reveal its value. Only then can we truly experience the artist’s work — when colour patches arrange themselves into a coherent, expressive whole.
I often encourage viewers to slightly narrow their eyes. This gentle blur can enhance depth and create an almost three-dimensional effect.
Look for emotions
When choosing a painting, we consider themes, colours, and forms that resonate with the owner or the space. The artwork should reflect personality, character, and atmosphere — while harmonising with the interior design.
Sometimes the choice will be figurative or realistic. Sometimes modern or abstract. The key is emotion.
A painting should delight.
